Silence. It should be so simple to find, yet it somehow seems ever harder to come by amid a world of traffic, gadgets and 24-hour news. So if you're realising how much you need stillness and a space for contemplation, you may have to set aside time and seek it out. That's where our meditation retreats come in. Commit yourself to stillness and just being, whether for three days or thirty. Practise Zen, Om or Vipassana mediation styles, or start with the basics on a beginner’s course. You could be on a silent retreat in Bali or combining meditation with yoga and hiking in Umbria, staying in a forest in Massachusetts or by the sea near Belfast, or even learning directly from the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. What matters, of course, isn’t the setting: it’s the spiritual journey taking place inside you.
