Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island

The self-styled "State of Fun", Sentosa Island off Singapore's south coast is a jet-shaped swoop of in-flight entertainment: five square kilometres packed with golf courses, beaches and adventure parks. And thanks to a suite of speedy connections from the main island of Singapore, you can step out of an Orchard Road hotel and be waist-deep in the resort's many attractions in less than half an hour, treating your kids (or your own inner child!) to a day to remember as you explore the Sentosa’s action-packed interior.

Zoom down flumes or paddle with friendly rays at Adventure Cove Waterpark, or navigate a series of themed oceans at the S.E.A. Aquarium, spotting neon jellyfish and silvertip sharks from the safety of a glass tunnel. Scream at leering Egyptian mummies in movie-inspired theme park Universal Studios Singapore, or watch your kids dress up and try out vocations from pilot to eco-flooring designer at the new KidZania indoor play zone, created to give a real fillip to their ideas for "what I want to be when I grow up".  If you just fancy relaxing, Sentosa sports a string of picture-perfect beaches, where you can swim or snooze in the shade of palm umbrellas. And for those feeling more athletic, there are the resort's observation platforms: the many-coloured Tiger Sky Tower at a whopping 110m (360ft), and the famous statue of the Merlion, a half-lion, half-fish guardian of Singaporean prosperity, from whose cement mane you can see out across the island.
