Itinerary

Day 01:

On this day depending on the arrival time of clients if they are already in Windhoek then on this first day we travel to sossusvlei if not clients overnightin klein windhoek guest house and tour starts early morning to sossusvlie. Set off from Windhoek at the start of this Budget Safari to Namibia's Sossusvlei Dunes, leaving early morning at 08:00 AM. Our route takes us across the Kuiseb River which sporadically flows through the Kuiseb Canyon. We stop for lunch along the way and also pass through the small hamlet of Solitaire. Driving into the Namib Desert we make our way to our camp at Sesriem, near the Naukluft Mountain Range. Arriving in the late afternoon we stretch our legs and take in the open desert landscapes around us, before setting off on a walk. Walking into the nearby Naukluft mountains we look out over the sweeping Namib Desert with its intense colours and shifting shadows, as the sun sets. Back at camp we have dinner, prepared by the guide, and gaze up at the star-studded desert skies. Accommodation is in adobe and canvas permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms.

Overnight: Klein Windhoek Guest House/ Sesriem campsite

Day 02:

Day two - we are up before the sun, arriving at the entrance to the Namib-Naukluft National Park in time for sunrise. We drive through the national park watching the changing colours as the sun lights up the desert landscape. Arriving at the striking dunes early in the day, we get to admire the orange-red tinged dunes in the warm morning light. This is one of the most remarkable highlights of Namibia, with its tall ochre dunes and stark contrasts under wide skies. Walking around at Sossusvlei you will be surrounded by some of the tallest sand dunes on the planet. From Sossusvlei we move on to the nearby Dead Vlei, also inside the Namib-Naukluft Park. Dead Vlei is a white, clay pan scattered with dead trees that stand in stark contrast to the sun-bleached earth and red-orange dunes fringing the dry pan. Then we stop at the best-known landmark dune - Dune 45. You have the chance to climb the dune and enjoy the views out over the desert, or relax at the foot of this iconic peak. From famous dunes to Sesriem Canyon, the desert adventure continues. We take a walk into this narrow canyon, where layer upon layer of ancient sedimentary rock can be seen in the steep walls. Sometimes the canyon floor is dotted with pools of water that are deep enough to take a dip in. Leaving the Sesriem Canyon we head back to the campsite.

Overnight: Sesriem Campsite

Day 3

Wake up in the quiet desert then we drive to Solitaire, where we stop in at the Na'ankuse Namib Conservation Centre to see cheetahs with the resident biologist. After our cheetah encounter we travel up to Bullsport and Rehoboth, making our way across plateau and hills to Windhoek. Our Budget Safari to Namibia's Sossusvlei Dunes ends in Windhoek this afternoon, with drop-off at the airport, bus station or your post-safari lodge.
