About Trip:
The Rara Lake & National Park ascends from 1800m to 4480m forested by conifers. It is at the far north-western part of Nepal. Rara Lake is the biggest lake in Nepal with an altitude of 2990 m and spreads over 10.8 sq km which is surrounded by green hills and forest. The number of tourists visits every year iconic Rara Lake. The western part of Nepal has swelled tremendously after the Surkhet-Jumla section of Karnali Highway. One can enjoy boating in the lake, hike to nearby hills with picturesque views of hills and mountains.

What to expect ?
You can find the lake surrounded by Rara National Park with pine, spruce and juniper forest. Rara lake from Murma Top (View Point).
Itinerary
Day 01: Drive Kathmandu – Chitwan
After breakfast, we drive to Chitwan which follows the Prithivi HighWay and Trishuli river and some other rivers. These rivers are famous for white water rafting, after a couple of hours, we will get to the point. Overnight at Hotel with Tharu cultural program.
Day 02: Drive Chitwan – Surkhet
After breakfast, we will depart for Surkhet, which takes around 7-9 hours to reach. Lunch on the way. We will reach Surkhet in the evening (depending upon the road condition and traffic on the way) Overnight at Surkhet.
Day 03: Drive Surkhet - Kalikot.
Early morning breakfast at the hotel and get ready to drive to Kalikot at 6:30 AM. Kalikot is 150 kilometers from Surkhet Drive. It takes 7-8 hours to reach Kalikot. It is one of the picturesque drives of your trip where you will be traveling through dense sal forest with stunning views lunch on the way. We will reach Kalikot in the evening. Dinner at Hotel. Overnight at Kalikot.
Day 04: Drive Kalikot - Rara.
Early morning breakfast and get ready for our ultimate destination, "Rara Lake." We will continue our drive via Sinja and Nagma. Lunch on the way. Nagma to Rara is an off-road drive. We are traveling through at the edge of the Karnali river via villages and dense forest. Ahead of reaching Talca airport additional, we will drive around 20-25 minutes where we park our Jeep. From there it is about 30 minutes hike to reach the lake. We will stay in Guest House on the bank of beautiful Rara Lake, so we need to walk a further 2 hours. Upon entering Rara Lake we check-in at the Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight at Rara.
Day 05: Rara Lake Excursion.
Wake up early in the morning. It is your free day at Rara Lake for excurse the Rara Lakes natural beauty. You can walk around, enjoy boating, you can have pictures and any other available optional tour. Overnight at Rara.
Day 06: Drive Rara - Kalikot.
Early morning breakfast and begin our return journey. We will walk a couple of hours to catch our Jeep where we parked. We will follow the same track while returning also. We will have our lunch along the way forward and follow the same path and will arrive Kalikot in the evening. Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight at Kalikot.
Day 07: Drive Kalikot - Surkhet.
Early morning breakfast, and we begin our return journey again. We will drive the same 7-8 hours approx. Lunch on the way. Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight at Surkhet.
Day 08: Drive Surkhet - Chitwan
Early on and we begin our return journey. We will drive to the same Hotel in Chitwan, Overnight at Chitwan.
Day 09: Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu and our Rara Lake Tour end.
After breakfast, we drive for the return journey by private vehicle.
