Our package is an exciting one, as we initiate with a scenic Kathmandu sightseeing tour. Our Kathmandu sightseeing includes Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath & Kathmandu, Durbar Square. We will fly to Bhadrapur & its just a 25 minutes scenic air flight. From Bhadrapur, we will drive to Illam, Jhapa. Crossing Illam, we will drive to Taplejung & initiate our trekking to Mitlung. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport - (1360m.) 

On your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you from the airport and transfer to the hotel. 

Overnight Kathmandu.


Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

If you wish to comprehend Nepal’s historical and cultural values, sightseeing in Kathmandu valley is crucial. Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, is a popular destination for tourists. This city offers a marvelous combination of mix religion of Hinduism, Buddhism, and some imported culture. Kathmandu carries the cultural and religious legacy that can be found at temples, monuments, and artifacts. Patan and Bhaktapur are neighbor cities which reflects a similar legacy. In the half-day tour, you will be guided to Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa. Pashupatinath is a Hindu Shrine where people worship Lord Shiva whereas Boudhanath is the biggest stupa of Nepal.  And for the rest of the day, we will prepare for the trek. You can buy your missing equipment for your trek.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Bharatpur (91M/298ft), 25 minutes and drive to Birtamod/Jhapa. (300M/984ft), 1 hrs, Drive to Ilam. (Lodging + B),

After breakfast, we will take a domestic flight to the southeastern part of the country. From Bhadrapur, we will get the vehicle for our journey into the mountains. We will drive 4-5 hours approximately through the fascinating countryside. We can experience the wide tea farms during the journey.

Day 04: Drive from Ilam to Taplejung (1820M/5971ft), 4-5 hrs trek to Mitlung (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will drive to Taplejung through the tea cultivataion area. This drive offers a glimpse of Mt. Kanchanjunga and Mt. Everest. In addition, we will get to see the pasture land and small villages. Once we reach Taplejung, our trek begins through the paved road for an hour and then descend gradually to Tamor river which takes us to Mitlung Village.

Day 05: Trek from Mitlung to Chirawa (1250M/4101ft), 7-8 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will hike through the rough trail to Chiruwa. We will smoothly ascend till Furumba village from where we can enjoy the uphills and downhills. We will ascend to Tawa village and descend for the Chiruwa village.

Day 6: Trek from Chirwa to Lelep (1,687m/5,534ft) 5-6hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will rejoin our trail, that continues along the beautiful Tamur River until we arrive at Olangchung Gola, the entry point of the Kanchenjunga National Park. We will hike through up and downhills trail till Tapethok and continue our hike until we reach to Lelep. The KCAP(Kanchanjunga Conservation Area Permit) headquarters is also in Lelep.

Day 7: Trek from Lelep to Ela Danda (2,051m/6,729ft) 5-6hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will rejoin the trail following the Tamor river upstream through the dense forest. We will cross the river through the suspension bridge and continue our trek climbing the pine forest for about 45 minutes. The further trek leads we us Ela Danda which offers an excellent view of Kasturi peaks and Tamor Khola.

Day 8: Trek from Ela Danda to Selep Kharka (2,525m/8,284ft) 5-6hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will cross the suspension bridge on the way before we come across a dense bamboo grove which is a popular habitat of the red panda. We will further walk through the bamboo forest to the Maguwa Kharka, which is our lunch spot for the day. Beyond Maguwa Kharka, there is the forest of rhododendron, oak, chestnut, Alnus, and maple, which has abundant number of birdlife. We will then cross a large landslip area before reaching Selep Kharka (2525m/8282ft) and then to Jongim Kharka (2634m/8642.8ft).

Day 9: Trek from Selep Kharka to Olangchung Gola (3,208m/10,524ft) 5-6hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

Day 9 will be our last camp before we climb the sharp ridge beyond to a prominent saddle toward the pass. After few hours of walk, we will reach a first pass adorned with prayer flags but this is not the top and it is necessary to cross below a peak to reach a slightly higher pass which is the actual Lumba Sumba La (5176m/16980.56ft). The views are exciting, extending eastwards to Kangchenjunga and Jannu Himalaya range and westwards to Makalu Region. This is a really special place where we can have a good rest or even some packed lunches. Now, we will hike into a large valley and we stop at the first suitable camping spot at yak Kharka (4,594m/15071ft).

Day 10: Trek from Olangchung Gola to Yangetar (4,203 m) 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will start to walk the leveled path through a forested area for about an hour and cross the suspension bridge. After that we will follow the Dingsamaba Khola, passing beautiful pasture land and bushes all the way to Yangetar.

Day 11: Trek from Yangetar to Pass Camp (4,747m/15,574ft) 4-5 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D), 

After early morning breakfast, we will hike by following the Dingsamba River crossing the small streams and take a gradual ascend to meadowland. Further, steep climb from Langmale Kharka leads us to pass camp.

Overnight in Pass Camp. 

 

Day 12: Trek from Pass Camp to Yak kharka (4,595m/15,075ft) via Lumba Sumba La (5,177m/16,984 ft.) 7-8 hrs. trek, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will pass through the Lumba Sumba La (5,177m/16,984ft). It is the most challenging and beautiful trail over the trek. We will start the early morning as we might face a sudden change in weather during noon. We will ascend till Lumba Sumba La and have some rest before we hike to Yak Kharkha. Local people say that Lumba Sumba means three passes, where we cross three ridges in Z hape.

Day 13: Trek from Yak Kharka to Jungle Camp (3,500m/11,482ft) 5-6hrs trek, (Lodging + B-L-D),

Today we will descend again, passing by Yak Kharkas with excellent views of Makalu just above our head, Then the different trail joins Umbak La pass (5200m/17056ft) where goods are traded with Tibet and Nepal. Reaching a village named Thudam (3500m/11480ft), a Sherpa village, we will have our Lunch and again head west through a steep-sided valley.

Day 14: Trek from Jungle Camp to Kharka (2,877m/9,438ft) 6-7hrs 

, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will head west through a steep-sided landslide before climbing steadily and passing through a cavernous bamboo forest. The view of Makalu is simply eye-catching. We will continue descending to a small clearing at 2,876m/ 9,436ft where we will make our camp.

Day 15: Trek from Kharka to Chyamtang (2,229m/7,312ft) 6-7hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

We will continue descending through the dense Rhododendron forest and then climb to a place called Yak Kharka on a ridge overlooking the Arun Valley. We can see the river below and in the distance, our overnight stop in the Lingam School (2391m/7,609ft). After continuing to downhill we will get to the Arun river where we will cross the suspension bridge and steadily uphill to Chyamtang where we will have our lunch. After lunch, we will hike by Chyamtang and get to the Lingam School.

Day 16: Trek from Chyamtang to Hatiya (1,595m/5,232ft) 7-8 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

This day, we will pass a few villages along the trails with the songs of birds. For our lunch, we will stop in the village of Gibber. The afternoon’s walk is relatively easy along a good trail to the Tibetan tribe village of Hatiya (1594m/5231.6ft). Here we will enter Makalu-Barun National Park.

Day 17: Hatiya to Gola (1,128m/3,700ft) 5-6hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

 After breakfast, we will hike the main trail through Arun River down to its confluence Brun River. The water of Barun river flows from Makalu range. We continue our hike till we reach the Gola Village. This village has only 12 houses (interestingly Gola consist mix of ethnic group people like Rai, Sherpa, Tamang).

Day 18: Trek from Gola to Hedanga Gadi (1,179m/3,868ft) 6-7hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

After breakfast, we will trek down to lowlands as we pass through paddy fields – a sign that we are at lowland. A further one and a half-hour lead us to Pathibhara village, a small village where Tamang and Rai people reside. The trail after lunch passes through the cultivated land and we can find amply of water sources and small settlements along the way. Hedanga Gadi is a second potential place for paddy fields of Sankhuwasaba district.

Day 19: Trek from Hedangna Gadi to Num (1,500m/4,921ft) 4hrs and drive to Tumlingtar.

After early morning breakfast, we will descend to the suspension bridge across the Arun River at Chiuribas. This marks the end of our trek. 

Chiuribas is connected to the road by a jeep track. Thus after taking some refreshment with the local tea houses here; we get on our vehicles for the 4-5 hour drive along the ridge to Tumlingtar (450m/1476ft). We spend our final night on a trek with our crew in the hotel at Tumlingtar

Day 20: Fly from Thumlingtar to Kathmandu. 

We take a flight from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, we check in to our hotel, and the rest of the day is free. Last night, we will have a farewell dinner at the boutique restaurant.
